Understanding Lume's output format and template canvas sizes

Lume exports generated images as PNG files, with JPG also in the download menu, at one of three resolutions: 1K, 2K, or 4K (1024px, 2048px, or 4096px on a square image). You also choose the aspect ratio before you generate - square, social, e-commerce, or ad formats - and Lume adapts the scene to fit that canvas. Both are picked from the editor toolbar: 1K is on every plan, 2K from Pro, and 4K on Business, Growth, and Studio; aspect ratios beyond square unlock by plan.
Export Format
PNG, Lossless
All Lume generations are exported as PNG files for maximum quality and compatibility, at the resolution you select before generating. Need a smaller file, for example for Etsy or Amazon? Choose Download JPG from the download menu in your gallery.
Output Resolution
Pick a resolution from the toolbar before you generate. Resolution and aspect ratio are independent choices: the aspect ratio sets the shape of the canvas, and the resolution sets how many pixels it has. A square image is 1024, 2048, or 4096px on each side; other shapes keep about the same pixel count, so their long edge is a little longer (sizes below). 1K is included on every plan, 2K from Pro, and 4K on Business, Growth, and Studio.
1K, 1024px square (1 credit)
The default. Perfect for ecommerce thumbnails, product listings, social media, and ads. Available on every plan, including Free.
2K, 2048px square (2 credits)
Matches the 2048 x 2048px square Shopify recommends, and gives sharper Amazon zoom and retina displays. Available on Pro, Business, Growth, and Studio.
4K, 4096px square (3 credits)
For print, packaging, billboards, and large-format displays. Available on Business, Growth, and Studio.
Aspect Ratios
Choose an aspect ratio from the toolbar before you generate, and Lume adapts the scene to fill that canvas. Which formats you can use depends on your plan (a template's own native ratio is always available on any plan). Dimensions below are at 1K. They double at 2K and are four times larger at 4K.
Square - Free and up
The everyday format for product listings on Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, and social feeds.

Social formats - Pro and up
Vertical and lifestyle shapes for stories, reels, and feed posts.
