How do I sign in?

Sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, or enter your email address to receive a one-time sign-in link - no password needed. Your gallery, uploads, and subscription are tied to your account across devices, including the Lume iOS app.

How do I upload my product image?

Click upload in the editor and select a JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, or HEIC file. Uploaded products are saved to your account, so you can reuse them in future scenes without uploading again. On templates with placement zones, you can drop a product directly into each zone to build the scene.

Can I add more ways to sign in to my account?

Yes. In Settings you can link additional sign-in methods (Google, Apple, Facebook, or email) to the same account. However you sign in afterwards, you land in the same account with the same credits, images and subscription, on the web, in the iOS app, and in Canva.

Question 8

I accidentally created two accounts. Can I merge them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A merge only happens when you start and confirm it - we never merge accounts automatically. When you merge, the second account's sign-in methods, add-on credit packs, uploads, generated images, products and projects move to the account you keep, and the second account is closed. Its monthly plan allowance does not carry over, and if it has an active paid subscription you will be asked to contact support first so billing is not disrupted. Merging is irreversible.

How do I change my account email?

If you sign in with your email address (sign-in link or password), open Settings and choose Change next to your email. We send a verification link to the new address first, and nothing changes until you click it. If you sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook, your email comes from that provider - link a different sign-in method in Settings, or contact support@lume.pics for help.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, choose Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm. Your account is deactivated immediately and scheduled for permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period - if you change your mind, just sign back in within those 30 days and everything is restored. After 30 days your data, images and remaining credits are permanently erased. Note: deleting your Lume account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google - cancel that in your Apple or Google account settings.

What does credits mean?

A credit is what you spend to generate a product photo. Creating one image at 1K resolution uses 1 credit, and higher resolutions cost a little more (2K is 2 credits, 4K is 3). So if you have 9 credits left, you can generate about 9 more photos at 1K. You get 5 free credits when you sign up, and paid plans include a batch of monthly credits that refreshes each billing cycle.

A 1K generation uses 1 credit. On Business, Growth, and Studio plans, you can also generate at 2K (2 credits) or 4K (3 credits) for higher-resolution downloads. You get 5 one-time credits when you sign up. Paid plans include monthly credits: Pro (60), Business (240), Growth (420), Studio (720). Your credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle, and anything you haven't used rolls over automatically - for 1 month on Pro, 2 on Business, 3 on Growth and 4 on Studio.

When do my monthly credits refresh?

Your monthly credits are added at the start of each billing cycle, on the same day and time as when you first subscribed. For example, if you signed up on the 6th at 3:24 PM, your credits refresh on the 6th of every month at 3:24 PM - not at midnight. Any credits you haven't used roll over automatically at the refresh (for 1 month on Pro, 2 on Business, 3 on Growth and 4 on Studio). On annual plans there is no monthly refresh: you receive the entire year's credits upfront, valid until your annual renewal. You can see the exact date and time of your next refresh on your Subscription page under the credit balance.

Do credits expire?

Unused monthly credits roll over automatically at renewal - for 1 month on Pro, 2 on Business, 3 on Growth and 4 on Studio. Annual plans receive the entire year's credits upfront, valid until renewal, and anything left at renewal rolls over the same way. Rolled-over and add-on credits are always spent first (soonest-expiring first) and are removed if your subscription ends. Add-on credit packs remain valid for 60 days. Signup credits are one-time and do not reset.

What happens to unused credits at the end of the month?

They roll over. Unused monthly subscription credits automatically become a rollover credit pack at renewal, valid for 1 month on Pro, 2 months on Business, 3 on Growth and 4 on Studio. Add-on credit pack credits expire 60 days after purchase. When you generate, Lume always spends your soonest-expiring credits first, so you get the most out of your balance before anything lapses.

Can I purchase additional credits?

Yes. You can buy add-on credit packs anytime from your subscription page to top up beyond your monthly plan credits. Each pack adds both credits and credit protections, and they stack on top of your monthly allocation. Add-on pack credits are valid for 60 days from purchase. Paid plans get a discount on credit packs: Business 5% off, Growth 15% off, and Studio 25% off.

Do Shots and Custom Templates cost credits?

Making them costs nothing. Saving a Shot is free and simply holds one of your Shot slots until you delete it, and building a Custom Template is free too, with no monthly limit on how many you build. Credits are only ever spent when you generate a photo, and the price is the same wherever it came from: 1 credit at 1K, 2 at 2K and 3 at 4K, whether you generated from one of Lume's templates, a Custom Template of your own, or a Shot. Both features are part of a paid plan: free accounts can browse and generate but cannot save Shots or build Custom Templates. What your plan decides is how many you get to keep - see "How many Shots and Custom Templates does each plan include?" below.

How many Shots and Custom Templates does each plan include?

Both are included on every paid plan, and the allowances grow with the tier. Shot slots: Pro 10, Business 20, Growth 30, Studio 50. Private Custom Templates: Pro 2, Business 8, Growth 30, Studio 100. Free accounts get neither. Both are standing capacity rather than a monthly quota - a slot is held for as long as you keep the Shot or template, and deleting one frees it again immediately. Building Custom Templates is not metered at all: only the number you keep private counts against your plan, and templates you publish to the Shared library are unlimited on every paid plan.

All plans include commercial licensing, secure storage, and credit protections.

Can I cancel my subscription?

What happens if my payment fails?

Your subscription enters a grace period of about 7 days while the payment is retried. During that time the new month's credits are held back and your rolled-over and add-on credits are frozen, not lost. As soon as payment succeeds, your monthly credits arrive and the frozen credits become available again. If payment cannot be collected, the subscription ends and its remaining credits are removed.

What is credit protection?

Credit protections let you reclaim a credit if you're not satisfied with a generated image. Click "Get Credit Back" in the image viewer within 30 minutes of generation (before downloading). The credit is returned to your balance and the image is removed. Each plan includes a monthly allowance: Pro (15), Business (70), Growth (130), Studio (240). Unused protections roll over at renewal together with your credits.

How do I get a credit back if I'm not happy with a result?

Pick the aspect ratio from the editor toolbar before you generate, and Lume adapts the scene to fit that canvas. Available formats depend on your plan: Free generates Square (1:1). Pro adds Social formats - Story/Reel (9:16), Instagram feed (4:5), and Landscape (4:3). Business adds E-commerce formats - Marketplace (3:4), Pinterest (2:3), Print (5:4), and Photo (3:2). Growth and Studio add Ad formats - Widescreen (16:9) and Cinematic (21:9). A template can always be generated in its own native ratio, on any plan.

Can I customize templates?

Each template is a complete, professionally designed scene - its background, lighting, and styling are already set, so there is no editing those elements piece by piece. You get the look you want by choosing the template that best reflects your expectations, and with 4,000+ scenes across many styles there is plenty of range to explore. Within a template, you can position your product in its placement zone to get the composition right.

Can I change how the model in a scene looks?

Yes. On templates that feature a human model, open the Model control in the editor toolbar to adjust gender presentation, apparent age, skin tone, hair color and style, eye color, and build, so the model represents your audience. Skin tone uses the 10-point Monk Skin Tone scale rather than ethnicity labels, and every option is equal - nothing is treated as the default look. Models are always AI-generated, fictional people. Leave any option unset to keep the look the template was designed with.

Why can't I make the model look like a specific person, or younger than an adult?

This is by design. Lume's models are fictional, and our content policy does not allow recreating real people, celebrities, or lookalikes, or depicting models as minors - the youngest apparent age you can choose is "20s". Requests that break these rules are blocked before generation, and every image also passes automated safety filters before delivery.

Can I put more than one product in a scene?

Yes. Templates with multiple placement zones let you assign a different uploaded product to each spot, so you can build multi-product scenes and apparel layouts in a single image.

What is a Shot?

Accepted Answer

A Shot is one of your own finished photos, saved so you can put a different product into it. Only the product changes: the pose, model, lighting, background and framing stay exactly as they are, which is what makes a whole product range look like it was photographed in one session rather than assembled from separate shoots. It works best when the new product is close to the original in shape and size. Saving a Shot costs no credits and holds one of your Shot slots until you delete it, at which point the slot is free again. Shots are a paid feature: Pro includes 10 slots, Business 20, Growth 30 and Studio 50.

What is a Custom Template, and how is it different from a Shot?

A Custom Template starts from a photo of your own that was taken outside Lume. You upload it, Lume studies the surface, lighting, props and camera, and rebuilds the look as a reusable template you can use with any product, in any format, with your own props and model. A Shot works the other way round: it starts from a photo Lume already made for you and changes only the product inside it. The short version is that a Shot keeps one exact photo and swaps the product, while a Custom Template keeps the style and lets you change everything else. You never have to choose between them, because where the photo came from decides which one you get.

Can other people use my Custom Templates?

Only if you make them public. When a Custom Template is ready you choose Private, so only you can use it, or Public, which sends it for review and then lets anyone on Lume use it. Public is permanent: a public template cannot be made private again, only deleted. Either way your original photo is never shown to anyone else. Every paid plan can keep private templates - Pro 2, Business 8, Growth 30 and Studio 100 - and templates you publish to the Shared library never count against that, so public templates are unlimited on every paid plan.

What do the numbers on the templates mean?

The numbers mark a template's product placement zones - the spots on the canvas where your uploaded products go. Each number is one zone, so on a multi-product template the numbers tell you where each product will be placed and let you assign a different upload to each spot. A template with a single number has one placement zone for one product.
