Delete Your Account

Last updated: July 14, 2026

You can delete your Lume account and its data at any time. Deletion covers your whole Lume account across every platform we operate, including the website, the iOS and Android apps, Canva and Shopify, no matter which one you ask from.

You get 30 days to change your mind

When you ask us to delete your account, nothing is destroyed straight away. Your account enters a 30-day grace period. During that time your account is closed and you cannot use Lume, but your data is still there. Sign back in within those 30 days and you can restore your account - your images, products and remaining credits come back with it.

Once the 30 days are up, the deletion runs and it is permanent. We cannot restore an account, its images, or its credits after that point.

How to delete your account

Option 1: From the website

  1. Sign in to Lume and open Settings .
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone.
  3. Tap Delete Account and read the confirmation.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm.

Option 2: From the mobile app

  1. Open the Lume app and sign in.
  2. Go to the Account tab.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm.

Option 3: Request deletion by email

You do not need to install the app to delete your account. Email us from the address registered to your account:

[email protected]  — subject line: Account Deletion Request

If you signed up through Canva and never added an email address to your Lume account, tell us your Canva user ID or the email address on your Canva account, and we will locate the account for you.

We may ask you to verify that you control the account before we delete it, so that nobody else can delete it on your behalf.

What gets deleted

Your account is closed as soon as you request deletion. Once the 30-day grace period ends, the following is permanently deleted:

  • your profile and account details, including your email address;
  • every sign-in method connected to your account;
  • the product photos and assets you uploaded;
  • every image Lume generated for you;
  • your products, projects and template favourites;
  • any remaining credits, including add-on packs, which are forfeited.

Before you delete: cancel your subscription

Deleting your Lume account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google. If you subscribed inside the iOS or Android app, your subscription is managed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us - we cannot cancel it on our side. You must cancel it yourself:

  • iPhone / iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Lume › Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Google Play Store › profile icon › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Lume › Cancel subscription.

If you do not cancel it in the store, you may keep being charged after your Lume account is gone.

Subscriptions bought on our website are cancelled when your account is deleted. If you restore your account during the grace period, we will try to restore a website subscription too - but if the billing period ended while the account was scheduled for deletion, the subscription will have lapsed and you will need to resubscribe. Full details are in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

What we have to keep, and for how long

  • Billing and tax records (invoices, payment records): kept for 6 years, because UK law requires it.
  • Security and abuse records: kept for up to 12 months, where we need them to prevent fraud and abuse.

These records are kept to the minimum necessary and are not used to contact you or to build a profile of you.

Other privacy requests

You can also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of your rights.
